The History of Love – Nicole Krauss

Reading The History of Love broke the rule I set myself not to read novels about books, as I often find them over hyped. Sadly this was not the exception.

Krauss has written a selection of very realistic and human characters, but there are often a lack of redeeming features, and there is no real development to the characters or tying up at the end.

The plot is over-complex and often requires very selfish behaviour, and unlikely co-incidences. There is also a confusing mix between the actual plot and the imagination of the characters.
